From Argentina to Aotearoa

The Lockdown Legacy
Sweetargentos didn’t start in a boardroom; it started in a quiet Christchurch kitchen during the 2020 lockdown. Like many, I was miles away from my family, missing the comforts of home. I began baking Alfajores as a way to bridge the distance and share a little joy with my neighbours. What started as a cure for homesickness quickly blossomed into a mission: to bring the authentic soul of Argentina to the South Island.

From Santiago del Estero with Love
Every recipe I bake carries the spirit of my hometown, Santiago del Estero. I grew up with the warm aroma of my Grandma’s baking filling the air—a memory I honour today by refusing to take shortcuts. By using the legendary Vacalin dulce de leche, we keep the traditions alive that made the Alfajor a global icon

My Imagination on a Plate
Today, Sweetargentos is where my heritage meets my imagination. Whether it’s the timeless traditional classics, our exotic "Gorgeous" passion fruit creations, or our thoughtfully crafted plant-based and gluten-free options, every treat is handcrafted by my own 10 fingers and infused with a spark of magic.

"But you might be wondering... what exactly is this magic in a box?"

Wait—how do I say it?
It’s pronounced al-fa-hor (think of that ‘j’ as a soft, breathy ‘h’).

Think of it as a sophisticated, melt-in-your-mouth cookie sandwich, held together by a generous heart of creamy 'Vacalin' dulce de leche. It’s a mouthful to say, but an even better mouthful to eat.
